...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers and locations in Indiana...Illinois... Wabash River from Lafayette downstream to Mount Carmel, except for Clinton. White River at Edwardsport downstream to Hazleton. .Main stems rivers in central and southern Indiana continue to work at emptying last week's copious rainfall. Flooding continues on the Wabash River from Lafayette to Mount Carmel...except at Clinton where flooding ended earlier today, and on the White River south of Newberry. Flooding will last as long as mid week next week. Dry weather through Monday will be conducive to the rivers continuing their downfall. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Covington. * WHEN...Until Monday evening. * IMPACTS...At 17.5 feet, Some low agricultural fields flood. Backyard flood of cottages a short distance north of U.S. Highway 136. High water blocks land access to at least one residence. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:45 PM EDT Friday the stage was 17.1 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:45 PM EDT Friday was 18.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Monday morning and continue falling and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Information: Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
