Severe Weather Preparedness Week March 3-9, 2013

This coming week, March 3-9, 2013 is Severe Weather Preparedness Week in the state of Illinois. I have attached a link to a NWS Press Release concerning this week and a Severe Weather Fact Sheet which you can use to help spread the word about severe weather safety.

I have also attached a link to a Press Release 2 regarding the statewide tornado drill next Tuesday, March 5th at 10 am. EDIT: This test has been postponed until Wednesday March 6th due to winter storm hitting Illinois on Tuesday. The NWS-Lincoln office will be issuing an actual Tornado Warning as a test so that we can verify that communications systems are all working prior to the start of severe weather season.
NOTE: The normal Outdoor Warning Siren test for Vermilion County will be conducted as usual at 10:00 am tomorrow.
