Oppressive moisture levels, as dew points rise into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees, will result in heat index values approaching 110 degrees across the Illinois River valley on Sunday, and over most of the region on Monday. The potential for cloud cover on Monday from overnight thunderstorms introduces some uncertainty, as this may keep air temperatures lower than expected. In any case, heat illness will be a significant concern early next week.
